What is WEMP?

WEMP stands for:

NginX (EngineX)
MariaDB (MySQL)

Okay, so the acronym is a bit strange and isn't a perfect acronym, but it comes with the following:
  • Nginx 1.13.5
  • MariaDB 10.2.7 (Although it should be easy to upgrade to MariaDB 10.2.8, I'll make a tutorial)
  • PHP 7.2.0RC1
  • PhpMyAdmin 4.7.4

This package also includes a nifty little GUI frontend that can be used to run your webserver without having to remember any start commands. The frontend source code is included in the "src" folder.

The default database login is:
username: root
password: root

Although it's easy to change the root password for your server if you're going to use this to host a website on a VPS or through your internet connection (not recommended to host a website from your internet connection).

System Requirements:
  • Any 64-bit (ARM64) architecture CPU (I recommend at least a dual-core for performance purposes)
  • At least 1 GB of RAM (although you'll need more for the operating system and any running processes)
  • At least 3 GB of disk space (the decompressed package is nearly 3 GB in size and can only increase as you add files to it)
